Interaction between two parties require a seamless communication that is why Baringo county government has continued to establish platforms that can enhance feedback from service delivery agencies and the citizens. In the past, this has been a challenge due to lack of these channels and also leadership and governance in devolved the units was still at a tender age.
Due to this gap, Baringo county government with support from its strategic partners have not only created a contact Centre with a Toll Free number 1554 but also established an online interface platform dubbed ‘SIKIKA BARINGO’ that will give citizens an opportunity to interact with county government via ticketing mode.
During a validation forum facilitated by CEDGG and GIZ at Rift Hills Resort, the CEC for Devolution, Public Service and Administration, Special Programmes, ICT and e-government, Peninah Bartuin said the citizens’ tool will give them the chance to get a quick feeback from their concerns, complains or compliments through the concern officers who are responsible for the issues raised therein.
“This platform will enhance transparency and accountability since it will increase communication between the county government and its clients who will be free to express themselves by filling the ticket(s) available on the platform which has an option of attaching docoments, pictures or short videos supporting their concerns,” she explained.
Appreciating County government for their transparency and accountability, CEDGG Programs Coordinator Kasese Kemunche promised to fully support this open discussion forum saying it will not only assist communities play out their oversight role but assist the leadership track on their progress.
